The Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), established in 2000, was responsible for attracting investment and issuing licenses to investors. In 2020, it became the Ministry of Investment Saudi Arabia (MISA), exclusively overseeing foreign investment and granting investment licenses to foreign investors in the Kingdom.
The Ministry of Investment Saudi Arabia (MISA) License allows foreign investors to get 100% ownership of their company in Saudi Arabia.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) License is a business license specifically for Saudi and GCC nationals and special residency holders.
The Ministry of Commerce in Saudi Arabia assigns a unique identification number known as the Commercial Registration Number (CR Number) to businesses, serving as a mandatory requirement for their lawful operation within the country.
The business license in Saudi Arabia is valid for one year, after which it expires and must be renewed annually.
